India, EU discuss issues relating to mobility and migration of professionals and students

India and European have investigated ways to facilitate the portability and migration of talented experts, students, and skilled labor for the mutual advantage of both sides, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday. ( Abroad Visa Consultant )

The issues figured at the sixth High-Level Dialogue on Migration and Portability (HLDMM) among India and the European Association that took place in Brussels on October 27.

The MEA said the conversations at the meeting covered a wide range of issues related to the promotion of protected, efficient, and regular migration including counteraction of irregular migration.

“Both sides also discussed expected areas of cooperation to work with mobility and migration of talented professionals, students and talented labor force for the mutual advantage of both partners,” it said in a statement.( Abroad Visa Consultant )

“Both sides expressed satisfaction at the successful execution of the India-EU Common Plan on Migration and Mobility. As India and EU celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties, the discourse is an important element of the essential partnership,” it added.

The Indian appointment at the talks was driven by Ausaf Sayeed, Secretary (Consular, Passport & Visa, and Abroad Indian Affairs) in the MEA.

Monique Pariat, Chief General (Migration and Home Affairs), European Commission, headed the EU team.

Besides the two appointments led by the co-seats, the meeting was also attended by agents of the diplomatic missions of EU member states in Brussels who were welcomed as observers.
