New Work Visas: India and Australia last week inked a movement and versatility organization settlement to open up potential open doors for understudies, scholarly scientists, and financial specialists.
Indian graduates of Australian tertiary institutions on a student visa can apply under the new program for up to eight years to work and pursue professional development without visa sponsorship.
This is scheduled to start from 1 July this year.
A brand-new pilot program known as MATES (Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-Professionals Scheme) will also be included in the program. Over the course of four years, the program will have a cap of 3,000 participants per year.
MATES will offer another portability pathway for Indian alumni and early vocation experts with information and abilities in designated fields of study to live and work in Australia for as long as two years.
Renewable energy, mining, engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), artificial intelligence, FinTech, and agritech are on the first list of eligible educational qualifications, according to reports. A joint working group will later add additional areas.
Australia made a proposal in April to change its immigration system to make it easier for people to get permanent residency and get highly skilled workers into the country faster.
According to the new work visas federal Labor government, the points test, which is currently used to select skilled migrants, will be altered to identify individuals with the appropriate skill sets that the Australian economy will require in the future.
The government stated that it would take steps to retain international students and expedite and simplify the visa application process for professionals with high skills.
According to O’Neil, holders of temporary skilled visas who had been denied even the chance to apply for permanent residency will be able to do so by the end of this year. She stated, however, that it will not increase Australia’s annual intake of permanent migrants.
Australia pledged more staff and funds to speed up visa processing and increased its intake of permanent migrants to 195,000 this fiscal year, an increase of 35,000, in September of last year.
