According to a report from TOI, students who had their student visas cancelled and were expelled from the United States might face a five-year immigration restriction. According to experts, these students may encounter issues when they attempt to visit other well-known overseas study locations including Canada, the UK, and Australia.

The same article also stated that this might have long-term effects for these people if they hope to obtain an H1B visa in the future, barring endorsement from significant MNCs.

Financially, students suffer significant losses as a result of the cancellation of the F1 visa since they must forgo costs such visa fees, flights, university application fees, consultant fees, and more, which might total about 3 lakh.

Concerns regarding difficulties with visas were raised after 21 Indian students were deported from the United States in one day. Many of these students, who are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, had already finished the necessary visa procedures and were on their way to the US with the intention of pursuing further education.

According to reports, these kids were briefly detained and then sent back after immigration agents thoroughly examined their documentation. Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco airports all had the incidents. Students expressed their surprise since they thought they had gotten their visas and were ready to start education.

Some students admitted that they were deported without receiving clear justifications, and that their WhatsApp discussions and mobile phones were inspected. In addition, they were warned to leave the nation without raising their voices and urged to do it gently. Universities in South Dakota and Missouri were among the universities these students were a route to.

According to data for May and June, when F1 visas for the autumn semester are normally awarded, about 42,750 students were successful in obtaining F1 visas from five consulates in India. In stark contrast, just 38,309 F1 visas were given over the same time period in 2022.
