US Embassy to temporarily close visa application processes(VFS Global)

The US Embassy in India announced on Monday that it will be temporarily closed for visa application processing (appointment booking, calls, and fee payments) from July 12 to July 14.(VFS Global)

VFS Worldwide, which handles visa handling for the US in India, is moving to another stage and will continue administrations on July 15.

The US Embassy posted on Twitter, “Attention visa applicants! From July 12 to July 14, our customer service center VFS will be temporarily unavailable for calls, fee payments, and appointment booking due to the migration to a new platform. On July 15, these services will resume.”

The largest outsourcing and technology services provider for governments and diplomatic missions in the world is VFS Global. For their client governments, they manage the administrative and non-judgmental tasks associated with visa, passport, and consular services.

In a recent speech at IIT Delhi, VFS Global United States Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti stated that the wait time for interviews for first-time tourist visas in the United States has decreased by more than 50%. She further said “We’re now doing this. We’re right now handling more visas, quicker, than the US Mission in India ever has previously. We have laid out an objective for ourselves to deal with basically 1,000,000 visas in 2023, and we’re now more than most of the way towards arriving at that objective.” VFS Global

Indians are increasingly traveling abroad, particularly to the United States.
