UK secretary of state for international trade Kemi Badenoch has spent the last two days in India holding consultations with her Indian counterpart Piyush Goyal.

It was very constructive. It’s in the context of a refresh to the free trade agreement (FTA), between elections in Gujarat and change of our PM over the summer, things had quietened down.
